The Davsters just got another girlfriend. I don't even hope to compete. He moved her into our flat, and with one glance I know she's here to stay. I don't even try to compete for his love and attention when he has her out, for I know there's a chance I might lose ;)
Say hello to my competition, ladies and gentlemen....
every day a different picture. a different reel. a different discovery of the world around me.

EXCUSE ME!? Bilbo Baggins on the front cover of Empire? Wait, no... holographic Bilbo Baggins on the front cover of Empire?! As part of a five-cover series?!?!
"5 Covers to Rule Them All"
Cooler words were never spoken.

See, now I don't get this. Here we are, standing face to face with one of the greatest performers ever (seriously, my mind was blown tonight. Jack White is a musical genius. Probably a few other kinds of genius, too)
But anyway. Here we are. We are here. And I swear, if this guy took one photo, he took a thousand. He spent more time with his nose stuck in his camera than he did with his eyes on the stage. So, you know, he could show people what an amazing time he had.
...but besides the clueless fool in front of me, definitely the best way to spend Halloween. For reals.

The Davsters found this the other day... amazeballs! I don't even remember the last time I saw one of those toy gun things.
I do, however, remember how much I loved the smell once they were fired.
:D

Neighbours havin' a party on the next roof over (I actually think they're filming). Music is awful but it looks savage!

(Jack Kerouac's On The Road)
Read underlined.
But please do me a favour. Read it. Don't just read it, but read it. Feel the words. Each one after the other. There for a reason, in that particular order.
Then tell me how long the shiver remains in your spine.
And tell me. Please tell me. How how how how how how did Kristen Stewart get cast in this piece-of-beauty-turned-film?

It is not often I am so utterly disappointed in something.
:(
Tried a new lemon meringue pie recipe and it was D.I.S.A.S.T.E.R.O.U.S. I mean, the meringue part was fine (though there wasn't enough.. but when is there ever enough meringue?!) but that's only because I didn't go by the recipe for that bit.
The lemon curd was a dull grey (ew)
The cornstarch didn't cook out properly (double ew)
Which meant it didn't set (sad face)
I stretched the crust too far so it mega-shrank in the oven (my fault, I know)
... aaaand it was late at night when I took it out, so I was tired and it made me pout (embarrassing)
I wanted to cry. I know not every bakescapade is going to end in success, but I was so disappointed! Please send me good lemon meringue pie recipes so I can redeem myself, people!

THIS IS THE COOLEST GUITAR EVER EVER EVER EVER EVERRRRR.
... you bend the strings with your knees.
Far. Out.

Whoever (whomever?) doesn't walk around this country with a constant expression of awe and amazement must have had their eyes pecked out by ravens as a child.
Or, perhaps, their hearts.
10.16
This is what I want my front garden to look like when I grow up (especially all the cutey litle chickens!)
Except I'm not sure about the pig. Look. It's standing next to a cow. As in bovine creature. And it's not even that much smaller. Terrifyinggggg.
10.15
Wait, hold on. What are you doing on my road, Mr. Sheep? Don't stare at me like that. It's not polite.
Oh, it's your road. I see. Sincerest apologies.
I heart the country.
10.14
I want to move here and live in the hills and have chickens and goats and never type another key stroke again. I want to write, I want to run mercilessly, I want to get lost. I want to detach, to be forgotten for a while and to understand man's place in the forest and field and sky and sea.
Only the Davsters can come. And maybe my piano. And Shakespeare. BUT THAT'S IT.

First of all: Scary.
Second of all: Beautiful.
Third of all: I want a baby one for a pet (as long as it never ever grows up).

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
It's only the best holiday of the year. Which means I pine for home more than usual this time of year. There's nothing better than surrounding yourself with people you love to remind you that (sometimes) home is portable, and is wherever your heart happens to be at a moment in time.
We had to settle for chicken instead of turkey, but it was the best looking/tasting roast chicken I have ever had. And I'm thankful for that.
pee ess, ignore the hangers on the table in the first photo... I suppose we weren't quite finished setting (or clearing, in that case).

Best Saturdays.
I'm trying to finish On The Road again quickly before going to see the film (thanks sister!). Unfortunately, I think I died a bit inside when I found out Kristen whats-her-face is playing Marylou. Epic. Fail.
10.05
I hope you never get tired of hearing it, because I'll never get tired of saying it... man I love living with a chef.

I doubt there will be many more days like this in the year.
Also can I just say -- I love numeric palindromes. AND this one is binary. Love.
09.30
Why, hello.
It says "instructions inside", but I didn't even notice it until I looked again at the photo (yes, I saw the dude in the phone booth, but still). I must go back and check out what this is about.
